I am in my second trimester! The baby is the size of an apple. He or she is busy moving amniotic fluid through the nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the lungs develop. The baby can sense light even though his/her eyelids are still fused shut. It's taste buds are forming. This is all so fascinating. I haven't felt the baby move consistently yet but I think I had a little flutter here and there.
In the meantime I am growing and showing it. At the appointment with my obgyn today the baby had a strong heart beat of 150 bpm. I measured well and finished my second round of blood work for chromosomal testing. I am feeling more energetic. I have been craving toast everyday. Only three weeks until we find out the sex of the baby!
