Bennett and Nolan got dressed into their warmest pajamas tonight.
Luckily we didn't have to wait for long to get onto the train.
We had a few minutes to settle in before it was lights out. The kids were given a golden ticket to hold on to until the conductor came around. Bennett was so excited about his. He was putting it into Daddy's pocket and taking it out.
The chefs came around with hot cocoa for everyone. And, the Polar Express story was being read over the train speakers while we rode toward the North Pole. It didn't take long for the conductor to come around looking for the children's golden tickets. No, it wasn't Tom Hanks.
Bennett really enjoyed getting his ticket punched. He was very curious and afterward was waving around babbling like a mad man. Nolan was in tears and was scared of the conductor. Poor guy!
And, then we made it to the North Pole.
Santa got on the train and was coming around greeting and handing sleigh bells to all the children. Bennett was not scared of this Santa and took his gift without an issue.
He loved his sleigh bell. He was shaking it to make noise for a while after Santa moved on. Of course, the two boys got antsy on the trip back and the usual shenanigans ensued.
Nolan is such a ham.
I was really impressed with how great of a job they did following the story line. We had a great time and we hope to make this an annual trip. Hopefully Bennett approves.
I cannot believe Christmas is in 5 days!
