renaissance fair

It's Renaissance fair time again!  We are so excited to go.  It's the third year in a row for us now.  This year we have a big group going.  Our friends Sue and Rob, Shay and Brian and Cait, Evan and Nolan are all joining us for the day.  We got an early start and arrived as soon as the fair opened at 10:30 AM.

It wasn't long before we saw royalty walking by with their guard in tow.

The first order of the day was to get some drinks.

And, nuts.  We have our priorities straight and we know it.

We tried to take Bennett on a pony ride but he refused.  He cried when we put him in the saddle.  Nolan did great though and enjoyed his ride very much.

Bennett was having fun running around while we waited for Nolan to be done.

We took the kids on the boat swing next.  Nolan did not like it at all.  He was very upset and we had to stop and let him off the ride.  I think the pirate that put us on the ride was a little too scary for him.

Bennett loved it and was having a great time laughing and swinging.

Time was flying by very quickly and before we knew it it was almost noon.  There was a jousting event we didn't want to miss so we headed to get a spot near the field.

Bennett and Nolan were enjoying playing with the sticks and the dirt while waiting for the jousting to begin.

The knights rode out onto the field and performed a few tricks like catching an airborne ring with their lance before jousting against one another.

Bennett really enjoyed this part of the show.  He actually paid attention.  After the show we went to grab some lunch.  Bennett wouldn't stand still and Nick and I took turns eating and chasing after him.  He really enjoyed the music that was playing near the food court.  He started dancing.  He danced so hard that he fell over!

We enjoyed some of the games the fair had to offer like archery, ax throwing and bell striker.

Daddy was really good at ringing the bell and rant it twice.  Great job Daddy!

We finished off the day at the Mud Show.  We enjoyed watching the two performers cover each other in mud, drink mud and eat mud while engaging the audience with foul language and requests.

It was another great trip to the Fair and I cannot wait to come back next year.
