mother's day

Today I had an amazing day.  My parents were here so I got to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom and dad.  I got up early and made a big breakfast for my mom.  They were leaving before lunch to head home.  My neighbor, Maribeth, and her daughter, Maeve, were also coming over.  I am lucky to share a day with such lovely moms.  We had bacon, overnight blueberry stuffed french toast, homefries, quiche and bagels with all the fixings.  Bennett and Maeve played on the porch as it was a spectacular morning weather wise.  They got into a couple of minor altercations about toys.  Maeve, although younger, stood up for herself when Bennett tried to steal a toy from her and smacked him once or twice.  It was pretty hilarious.  Bennett seemed un-phased though.  I need to teach this kid how to share his toys with his friends.

Oh yeah, Murphy came over too.  She is good at photo bombing.

After breakfast, Bennett and Grandpa played outside for a while before Grandpa had to leave.  They had fun hanging on the patio together.

I love you mom and dad.  Thank you for coming to visit and all that you do for us.  Please come back soon.

Shortly after my parents left we headed to Nashoba Winery for a picnic with friends.  We grabbed a bunch of snacks and sandwiches from Wegmans.  The drinks we would buy while at the winery.  Cait, Evan and Nolan were already there.  The boys had fun running around and playing in the grass.

Bennett found a stick and was pointing it around like a magician.  Personally, I think he was channeling Harry Potter.

He makes a cute magician I think.

A little later my friend Noel came to join us with her baby, Isa bear.  Nolan loved playing with Isa.  She behaved very well.  Noel makes a good mommy.

I was snicking some snuggles with my favorite little boy.

We had a wonderful time at winery but headed home after a couple of hours.  The sun was nice but it got very hot.  I was concerned we would all get sunburns if we didn't get out of the sun soon.  Thank you to my boys for an awesome day.  I couldn't have asked for more.

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful and amazing moms I know out there!  You are doing a great at the toughest job in the world.

  2. Wow, you had a fun-filled day with lots of special people! :) So nice of you to make a big breakfast for your mom, too! I was laughing at B getting smacked around by a girl. Sharing is a never ending lesson (even me when it comes to my dark chocolate, ha). What a great magician B is! Happy Mother's Day to an AMAZING mom!!
