mt. wachusett

We had so much fun hiking recently we decided to do another hike this weekend.  Today we are scaling Mt. Wachusett.  We are doing a short hike.  There are a lot of trails on Mt. Wachusett.  This trail called Mountain House is about a mile long.

B is ready to go.  He loves the backpack.

This trail is very different from our last hiking trail.  It is quite and right away it got steep.

There were large rocks but the trail itself is mostly smaller rocks and dirt.

It took us 25 minutes to climb all the way to the top.  It is very different up here in comparison to Mt. Monadnock.  There is a road and a man-made structure to use as a lookout.

Winston and I made a pitstop before checking out the views.

It was a great success.

We can see Worcester and Boston from the top on a clear day.  Unfortunately, it wasn't clear enough to see Boston and Worcester is hiding behind a pole.

Bennett enjoyed the ramps.

It's a gorgeous day for a family picture.

This looked interesting.  Too bad I have no idea what it is supposed to be.

After thouroughly exploring at the top, we headed back down.  It took us about 20 minutes because we took our time and stopped for a drink a few times.

We were done with the hike in about an hour.  It was a lot faster and easier than our last hike but it satisfied our need for a hike.
