I am hiking with Winston in the Baby Bjorn. Bennett was very excited to start hiking. He loves the backpack.
The trail started out pretty flat. We were thinking with only it being 1.5 miles long we would be done in no time.
It was a gorgeous day for a hike. The weather was perfect. It was sunny with a light breeze. Hiking up Mt. Monadnock is very popular (the third most popular hike in the world) so we ran into a lot of people on the way up. The trail got more challenging the higher we climbed.
Bennett was making everyone jealous of his sweet ride up the mountain.
Everyone we passed and asked would say we had about 20 minutes left to the top. In reality it took us two and a half hours to climb to the top with one stop to feed W, change diapers and snack.
It was well worth it. The view up here is gorgeous! The light breeze is a much needed relief from the stickiness of the climb.
There were a lot of people at the top. Everyone was impressed that we did the hike with two kids. A woman came over and offered to take our family photo because she said we needed proof we made it to the top with two kids. I was surprised she was up for that challenge. Here is proof!
Bennett enjoyed getting out of the carrier and climbing around at the top.
The climb down was much faster. We did that in about an hour. Bennett was less cooperative on the climb down. I think it is a lot more bouncy on the way down. He is also tired since he hasn't napped. I cannot wait to do another hike. I really enjoyed this one. I am glad that Bennett and Winston did well too. It will be so much fun to hike this mountain again with them once they are older.

Woohoo! Great job schifferles! Looks like a beautiful day for a climb!
