beach day

Daddy stayed home today so we could get out and spend the day at the beach.  We went to Newport, RI and set up at Second Beach.  The weather was perfect for a beach day.

The beach was busy but not impossible.

Bennett loved playing in the sand.

Winston and I were having a good time talking and laughing.

I think we have yet another beach bum.

Daddy tried to take B swimming but he chose to play in the sand most of the time instead.  I think we need a sand box.

We left the beach after a couple of hours to pick some raspberries and blueberries at a nearby farm before B's nap time.

There were so many ripe raspberries that it took us less than 5 minutes to collect a pint.  We stayed for a while so B could enjoy some right off the plant.

He did well.  He ate a lot of raspberries.  I was impressed.  And, he mostly picked the red berries.  He did try eating some off the ground.  He does not like to waste food.

B did not get into the blueberry picking as much.  He may have been too full from the raspberries at this point.

He spent his time running around with a stick he found on the ground.

We brought home a pint of blueberries as well.  It was a fun day and the best part is we got to spend it together as a family.
