science center

We are visiting Grandma and Grandpa this weekend for Russian Orthodox Easter.  Today we went to the Science Center in Ithaca, NY because it was cold, windy and overcast outside.  Grandma, Megan and Dan joined us as well.

We got there early to beat the crowds.  Bennett didn't waste anytime and took off running for the ramp of the tree house.

After a few laps, he pulled away for a minute to play with the motion sensors on the ground that made animal sounds as you stepped on them.

Then we switched gears and played with a puzzle.  Grandma and Nick were trying to rebuilt it as fast as Bennett was knocking it down.

It was hard to take pictures of Bennett at the Science Center.  He would not stand still for very long so I have a few videos to share of the crazy.

The musical stairs were a lot of fun.  We took several trips up and down.

Bennett loves to slide even when it's not very slippery.  He comes down and says: "Weeee..."

Back downstairs we visited some animals.

There were snakes, frogs and fish to see.

The lionfish was my favorite.  I think this is the first one I have seen up close and personal.

Bennett moved on pretty quickly to play with the kinetic sand.  The sand had a projection pointed at it that was programmed to change as the topography of the sand changed.  If there was a pile of sand, it would look like a mountain and the lower parts would look like water.

Bennett played with the sand for about 10 minutes.  This was by far the most time he spent doing one thing today.

Last but not least B watched the ball drop machine and took a bike ride with a skeleton.

We had a lot of fun today.  And, all of us were ready for a nap by lunch time.  Sadly, it was too cold to play on the giant playground they have outside the Science Center.  We will definitely have to come back when it's warmer out to enjoy that part as well.
