westport, ontario

It's our last day at the lake house and the weather is gorgeous.  We are taking a boat ride to the nearby town of Westport for lunch and ice cream.  I am excited because we are going to go through a lock.  Winston's life vest is so huge.

Bennett is ready to take the wheel for the boat ride.

This place is gorgeous.

The lock was a really neat experience.  We had to purchase a ticket to pass through.  Once inside we were tied up to the wall.

Here we are at the bottom before it filled up.  That took about 15 minutes.

Once at the top we untied the boat and took off for the town again.  It's not the fastest way to travel but very neat.

Winston slept through the entire boat ride.

I cannot get over the gorgeous day we are having today on the lake.

We docked the boat and crossed a very tall bridge to get into town.

It was a slow day at the docks but that was good news for us.

I could tell right away this was a quaint little town.

Lunch was the first thing on the to do list.  Being outdoors makes me hungry.

Lunch was great and we got to try real poutin!

This place had the longest spaghetti noodles I have ever seen.  Bennett thoroughly enjoyed eating them.

Kiley enjoyed the fan.

She was mesmerized.

Kiley ready to hit the town after lunch.

We did some shopping and then got some ice cream.

And, fudge for dessert after dinner.

With our bellies full we headed back.  The ride home was choppy but the boys didn't mind.  Both Nolan and Bennett fell asleep on the trip home.

This boy has the most stylish hair after the boat ride.

Nolan decided to crawl around on the floor instead of napping after we got back.

We did some swimming, eating, conversating (is that a word?) and relaxing the rest of the night.

We are sadly leaving tomorrow.  I have really enjoyed my time here.  And, I know Bennett and Nick did too.
