botanical gardens

Up bright and early again, the morning whizzed by as we had breakfast and got ready for our adventures today.

B and Alice had fun playing peak a boo.

James and Bennett had fun playing with the train table.

Today we spent at the Botanical Gardens.

First, the kids got their road maps out and we got their group photo out of the way.

Our children are adorable but it's impossible to get them all to pose nicely at the same time.

There were a lot of plants to see in the main lobby besides the additional exhibits.

My favorite was the chocolate tree.  These yellow pods are used to make chocolate.

Then we roamed around the multiple rooms to see the rest of the plants.

We stopped by the special exhibit they were having called "Roots."  It educated the visitors about the importance of plant roots.  The plants on the wall displayed how the roots can be just as big under the ground as the plant is above ground.

It was amazing to see how big some of the roots can be.

We were having fun but all that walking and learning got us thinking about lunch.  I am always thinking about food so I was just waiting for everyone to catch up.

One last stop to play with the fountain in the lobby before heading to The Lodge for some chowder and delicious cinnamon bread.

The afternoon was really quite because we all took naps.  Who knew Botanical Gardens would be so exhausting?  Then this happened...

And it escalated to this... while we were busy making dinner.

So proud of themselves!

James found a great way to entertain Bennett with a balloon before dinner.

Taco night was a big hit.  But before we knew it, it was time for bed again.  Tomorrow we are looking forward to another fun day with the Seymours.  Although it's hard to believe it can get any better than this.
