toad

Our neighbor, Jennifer, and her pup, Rocky, brought over a special friend from her yard for Bennett this morning.  

Rocky was just as taken by the toad as Bennett.  He kept trying to lick it and play with it.  

This was a very mellow toad.  He didn't jump even with Bennett so close by and Rocky's attempts to lick it.

Bennett had no idea what to do with the toad of course.  Daddy brought him up to Bennett for a closer look.

He did well holding the toad.  We were worried he would squeeze him too hard but he was really gentle. Maybe he does understand the meaning of the word, after all we say it all the time when he tries to roughhouse with Max.

We released our friend into some nearby grass.  Maybe we will see him again someday.
