davis farmland

We took Bennett to Davis Farmland this afternoon with the Taylors.  It's a giant petting zoo.  They have goats, pigs, llamas, cows, ponies, chicken, other birds and sheep.

Why should the kiddo's have all the fun?  Moms like to have fun too.

Some of the animals are caged into a designated area, while others are free to roam around in a large fenced in area with the visitors.  We took the boys to look at the baby cows first.  All of which were born in April several days apart.

Bennett and the calf were shy at first.  I got the calf to warm up after giving him some food from the feeding cup.

He was not very shy after that.  Bennett was not very amused so we moved on to see the goats.

There were two mother goats and a bunch of baby goats in the next pen.  Bennett liked looking at these three.

I am not sure he knew what he was looking at but he didn't want to leave.

Luckily, he did not complain much since we took him away to cuddle with a billy.

I am not sure that he knew what was happening here.  He barely touched or looked at the billy.

We were off to see Dolly, the llama, next.  She also had a baby this spring.  The baby was taking a nap but we got some nice shots of Dolly llama.

We checked out the ducks and the peacocks next.  Bennett liked looking at them.  I am thinking he really wanted to jump into that pond more than anything.

The three little pigs were adorable to look at but they are marked with red tape, which means they can nip at little fingers, so we moved on to the free range area.

A little goat welcomed us upon entering so we gave him a little snack.

Then we stopped by to see Shelby, the turtle.

But, Bennett really took off when he saw the chickens.  He loved chasing them and going in and out of the chicken coops.

The babies are so fuzzy and adorable.

This was by far his favorite part of the trip.  I wonder if it's because he could chase them around.  Bennett loves to run around.

They were shearing the sheep during our visit.  The kids were allowed to help.  I thought it was neat that the shears were hand-cranked.

We wrapped up the day by visiting the large playground area they have set up with a bouncy house and a picnic lunch.

Nolan loved pulling on the horn.

Bennett found his favorite, the vacuum.

After cleaning the house, he had a tea party with daddy.

Bennett and I are on t.v.!

Bennett's first bouncy house experience.  I think it would have been better if it wasn't so hot inside.

He was laughing quite a bit.

Both boys really enjoyed playing in the water.  Bennett so much so that he had to get a new change of clothe.

In the next few years, I think Bennett will really enjoy this place more and more.  I am glad we found the time to get out and spend a nice afternoon with our friends.

  2. Dolly Llama! Are you serious! This place looks like so much fun! I bet you guys were so tired afterwards. James just said - look, Bennett's on tv! I think it's amazing that he knows what an "old " tv looks like. Not sure he's ever seen anything other than a giant flat screen!
