grandma and grandpa's house

We made the trip to Spencer, NY this weekend for Grandma's birthday and Father's Day.  Usually B sleeps pretty well when we go to Grandma's, but he decided to wake up at 5 AM this morning.  So we had a lot of time to kill before Nick's mom and sister planned on coming to the house.  We played inside with all of Grandma's stuff for a while then headed outside.  It was cold out so we didn't stay outside very long.  Bennett brought in a nice peony for mommy.

Grandpa took him to see the green house and snack on some strawberries before breakfast.  I am surprised B didn't get lost in the asparagus forest they have growing outside of the green house.

Bennett brought back some nice loot from the strawberry patch for later too.

We tried to play with the lawn mower but Bennett cried as soon as Grandpa turned it on.  I think he was scared of how loud it was.

Grandma got a nice slide for the yard so we took a few turns going down it before heading in for some piggy back rides with Daddy.

Bennett is getting much better at holding on to Nick once on his back.

Mommy watched Bennett while he played on the window sill.  He loves to stand in the windows in his room lately to look out.

Bennett was getting along with Kluesch.  He thought it would be a good idea to brush him.

The boys went outside again to check out the new room over the garage my dad has been working on.  Bennett liked playing up there.  I hope my dad plans on teaching him how to use the measuring tape the proper way sometime.

Then Bennett, Nick and Grandpa went downstairs to start the sauna.  Bennett was not very interested in the fire.  I found that comforting.  Of course, he found a vacuum and tried to use it.

Nick's mom and sister had gotten there around this time.  While the sauna warmed up we went out again for some wagon rides.

Bennett loved being pulled.  He would complain whenever we stopped even for a minute or two.

Daddy wanted a wagon ride too.

Bennett was trying to figure out how to pull daddy.

It was about 4 PM at this point and Bennett still hasn't napped more than a half hour.  We tried putting him down multiple times but he was not interested in sleeping.  He was too busy.  It's no wonder that he fell asleep right in the middle of his wagon ride!

His nap didn't last long but it gave us time to enjoy the sauna.  Bennett stayed awake until 8 PM though.  We had dinner and watched "Frozen."  I hope he sleeps in tomorrow.  It has been a long day for all of us.
