We spent the day exploring the city. We went to a few shops, wandered around St. Stephen's Green and grabbed lunch before heading to St. James' Gate for a Guinness Brewery Tour.
It was amazing how still these five remained for the onlookers.
The kids gathered around waiting to pop these giant bubbles.
The park was so quiet that you could not tell there was a bustling city surrounding it. It was gorgeous, green and a breath of fresh air. Bennett's favorite was the fountain. He enjoyed looking at and listening to the water. I couldn't help but imagine him thinking about it like a giant bath tub. I know how much he loves his bath time.
We spent most of our time at the Guinness Brewery. It is the largest brewery we have toured. It is six stories high with a large bar at the very top of the building called The Sky Bar. It is one of the tallest building in Dublin offering a 360 degree view of the city. We learned about the ingredients, the brewing process and the history of the brewery before enjoying a pint at The Sky Bar.
The exhibit on Guinness advertisements was very interesting. We got a chance to literally be in one.
The Sky Bar had the best views of the city and pints of beer.
I loved the educational tid bits about the city on the windows.
The sun set was our cue to leave and head to the hotel. We had a hard time pulling away from this amazing view of the city.
Bennett went to sleep a little bit later than usual but otherwise according to his regular routine. The long day finally wore him out. It was impressive he lasted this long! We were looking forward to some sleep too. Tomorrow we are off to explore the west coast.
So exciting! Last time I was there I was pregnant with James and couldn't enjoy my pint! I guess it just means we have to plan another trip ay? ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you 3 make the cutest advertisement ;) I bet it was neat to hear the history of brewery and then enjoy a good taste! I like that they had printed stuff on the windows too.
