dentist

Today B and W both go to the dentist for the first time.  Everything was going well when we walked into the office.  But, W melted down once he was asked to open his mouth and show his teeth.  He did not want to play nice.  He kept crying and running away.

I had to hold him down for the dentist to take a look at his teeth.  W has 16 healthy teeth. 

To our relief Bennett did awesome.  He did exactly as he was asked.  The dental hygienist was able to clean his teeth and take x-rays.  B loved the water spray for flushing his mouth.  

Sadly, Bennett has 2 very large cavities and needs caps.  The cavities are too close to the nerve to fill.  His next dental appointment is September 11th and I am already freaking out.  If he does not do well with laughing gas and local anesthetic, he will have to go under for the cavities.  I feel like a failure as a parents for letting his teeth get to this point.
