It is the oldest neighborhood in New Hampshire to be settled by Europeans, and the earliest neighborhood remaining in the present-day city of Portsmouth.
It features more than 40 restored buildings built between the 17th and 19th centuries in theColonial, Georgian, and Federal style architectures.
We had a fun time walking around and exploring the ins and outs (literally) of the homes.
Bennett found some toys to play with in the garden. I wonder if they were used by kids living in this neighborhood 200 years ago.
Winston enjoyed a nice nap. My mom was excited to see a plum tree. It reminded her of her home.
Inside one of the homes we could see all the architectural features from those days.
Our favorite was a house with a small convenience store attached.
There were many of the same brands from these days at the store. The packaging was much different.
Bennett liked the toys he found in the store.
After a quick stop for ice cream and refreshments we headed to the beach. This was a really cool place to visit. A walk down the history lane.
