hello to spencer, ny

On the way to my parent's house we stopped at a winery for a quick tasting.  We couldn't pass up the opportunity.  We are in the best part of the state for that kind of thing.  We randomly picked the winery.  It is called Goose Watch.

This is Bennett's first winery experience.  I wonder what he will think of it.

It's tough holding a baby while wine tasting.  We managed by keeping Bennett distracted with wine crackers. The wines here were delicious.  We tried 6 wines each so 12 total.  We definitely tried each others wine.  I am not sure if we are supposed to do that but we don't get out much so we did.

The nice older gentleman in the picture took to Bennett and bought him some Goose Watch Grape Juice so Bennett didn't feel left out.  It was really nice of him.  His name is Jim.  Bennett was acting shy.

Bennett really enjoyed running around on their giant deck.

We really liked the wines this place had to offer.  I see myself coming back here again.

We got to Grandma and Grandpa's a little after one in the afternoon.  Bennett fell asleep in the last five minutes of the trip.  Grandma and Grandpa were a little disappointed they weren't going to be able to play with B right away.  It gave us a chance to get dinner ready and catch up.  Bennett woke up shortly after it started raining.  It was so loud.  He loves playing in the rain.  My dad has buckets set up around the deck to collect rain water and Bennett had a lot of fun playing with the water inside.  

He was making the funniest faces.

It's no wonder he was soaked by the end.  Bennett got a new outfit for dinner which didn't stay on for long.  Grandma had a surprise for Bennett.  A cupcake in a shape of a hedgehog.  We all know how this is going to turn out.

Bennett was very slow eating this cupcake.  He was very carefully picking off the frosting with his finger a little at a time.

Maybe he was afraid the spines were real.  

He announced he was finished with his cupcake by clapping and proclaiming: "Yay!"

During dinner we were all cheering and we swear Bennett chimed in and said: "Cheers!" too.  After dinner it was back outside but it was still raining.  Daddy had the perfect solution for that problem. Bennett got to put on his bathing suit to run around in the rain.

I don't think the umbrella is helping.

The fun ended when we had to pack up and head home.  It was nice to see Grandma and Grandpa even though it was for a little while.  Thanks for all the veggies and blueberries we got to bring home!
