Bennett loves his bath time. He likes to attempt swimming. He lays on his tummy and moves his legs and arms as if doing the doggy paddle. It's really cute but if you get too close you can get soaked.

brow stache
Bennett got a new sippy cup to try out this week. It tilts upward like the bottle but doesn't have a spout so the liquid inside comes out from the lip on the lid no matter where you position your mouth. It's a really cool concept which I though was perfect but apparently Bennett needs sometime to get used it. He tends to over tilt.

bennett vs. tissue box
While I was in the kitchen this morning, things got really quite in the living room. I went around the corner to check on things and found Bennett himself happily entertained.
new toothbrush
Bennett has been showing a lot of interest in our vibrating toothbrushes. He loves trying to brush his teeth with them, but being that they are way too big for him, he fails miserably.
So mommy got him a Bennett sized vibrating tooth brush. He loves it. He brushes his teeth every morning now with pleasure. He comes into the bathroom goes into the cabinet where we store it and shakes it until one of us turn it on for him. I am happy that this encourages a forming of a healthy habit. I almost feel like I should get some sort of mommy award for this one.

bib food
Bennett usually drops food in his bib while he eats. We then end up having to toss it when he is done with his dinner. Tonight Bennett found the food he had in his bib and had a feast.

bennett potter or harry schifferle?
Bennett got these fun glasses from Maeve's birthday party this past weekend. He looks like a little wizzard with these on.

auntie Stacey
Auntie Stacey was in town for her besties, Amelia, birthday party near Springfield, MA. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to see her so we drove out early Sunday to Amelia's house for breakfast. We enjoyed the yummy breakfast and the refreshing mimosas. Bennett had fun playing with Amelia's son and the balloons left over from the party.
Check out that stat-icky hair-do!
Thanks for the hospitality to Amelia and her family. It was great seeing you auntie Stacey and we had a great time catching up.
Soon it was time to get my little bundle of joy back out there into the cold and snow. I hope you have a great trip home auntie Stacey!

first hair cut
Bennett needed a haircut. His hair is growing like a weed lately. So this morning I decided to give him a bit of a trim up before we get around to going for a real haircut. Here he is before the cut.
And, after.
Yes, that is a piece of goldfish on his face. We had to bribe him with snacks to keep him still-ish in daddy's lap.

valentine's day
Today is Valentine's Day! We got out of work early again on the account of snow. So Nick and I got Bennett from day care and went out to an early dinner at Uno's. We are trying to stay on budget so Uno's has become one of our favorites. Partly because we get great coupons in the mail for the place and partly because they have a very tasty grilled chicken salad that I am addicted to lately.
Apparently every parent in the neighborhood was going out to an early dinner with their little ones. There were 6 of them at the restaurant already. And, here we thought we were the only ones with the bright idea. Bennett made friends with a very friendly girl in the attached booth. They were very cute babbling back and forth with each other.

Bennett had spaghetti, steamed veggies and grilled chicken for his Valentine's day dinner. It was a lot of food! Bennett sure didn't finish it all even with mommy's help but he did love the pasta.
I am sure happy we got to spend most of the day together even though it was due to snow again.

someone is too big for the bumbo
Bennett got stuck today in day care. He needed help getting out. Someone has some serious thunder thighs.

one year check up
Today we saw our pediatrician for Bennett's one year check up. Bennett got a great bill of health. He is growing well and weighed in at 22 pounds and 2 ounces. His length was at 30 inches. That makes him about fiftieth percentile for both. He was feeling better after his fever by now and was a good sport at the appointment.
It's still unbelievable that my little baby is one. He is walking and babbling a lot. He is not sturdy on his feet but he is getting there. Sometimes we think we can make out words. We think he has said "up," "bye," "ball," "wow," "uh-oh," "mama" and "dada." He loves to eat cantaloupe better than anything he has tried and he has tried a lot! He also likes yogurt, ham, goldfish and ice cream. Bennett loves to eat. We are very lucky. He is also starting to use the sippy cup. We switched to milk from formula and are trying to kick the bottle habit. He struggles with the straw kind because he thinks he needs to hold them upside down. I think this is going to take him a while.
His favorite game to play is what we call "tent." It's where we put a blanket over his head or over the couches and an ottoman with Bennett underneath. He loves sitting there and waiting for us to pop in or uncover him. He giggles and giggles and giggles. This boy loves to laugh. He also likes to ride around on top of a toy car we got from auntie Audrey and uncle Chris. We put him on top of the car and push him around in a circle around the house. He loves when daddy or I pop out from behind a couch as he rides by it. He spends the rest of his time trying to climb the stairs, getting into our drawers and pulling out the whisk (his favorite cooking utensil), playing with the kitchen set we got for his birthday from Tami, Matt and Islaru, but balloons are his absolute favorite! He played with the few we had from his birthday for a week.

I am so happy to have a healthy and happy baby. Love you B!

snow day
Today we got about a foot of snow in our neighborhood! The snow started around 5 o'clock this morning and didn't stop until dinner time. Needless to say we had no work or day care today. We spent the day hanging in our jammies, watching cartoons, eating and playing with Bennett. It was nice to have a day off with my favorite boys.
