Later Babushka and Sheila joined in on the fun. Bennett loved all the attention.
On Saturday morning we got ready to go to the Higgins Armory in Worcester. It's a private collection of medieval weapons and armor. We have been wanting to go for a while but haven't found the time. Also, it's something that interests my dad so we decided to check it out.
We ended up enjoying this incredible collection enormously. They had armor from the times of gladiators. We saw how this armor evolved into the armor we are used to seeing from the Renaissance days and then some.
There are three types of armor: combat, tournament and decorative. The combat armor was for the battlefield, the tournament armor was for jousting and the decorative armor was for court events, ceremonies and parades. We learned a lot of similar fun facts about swords and weapons too. We tried our hand at handling some of the weapons as well.
For as big as that sword looked, it was very light. The jousting lance was not. I had a hard time keeping that straight and so did my dad.
We will definitely be coming back here soon. I think Bennett and his giraffe liked it too.
Saturday night we enjoyed a shepherd pie dinner with my parents, Cait, Evan and Bennett's buddy Nolan. My mom knitted him a matching hat and they showed them off. Too cute!
Sunday my parents left pretty early to drive back home. They had a long trip home. We are so thankful they made it. We had a wonderful weekend thanks to them.

I'm so glad your dad got to meet my little buddy. You'll have to take us to the armory next time we all come up. I know the boys would freak out ;)
