baby girl

Today we got to see baby girl on an ultrasound.  She is measuring about 12 ounces.  All other measurements are normal for cervix, spine, head, feet and etc.  Her heart rate is 168 bpm.

She was busy moving during the ultrasound.  The technician had a hard time catching her in a good position for a picture.   I think I started to feel her kicks around 15 weeks this time.  It felt like little flutters.  We are excited to meet her in December!

Finally visual proof it's a she!

bug bite

Winnie is at the doctor's office today.  We noticed last night his is swelled up.  We found some marks on the elbow that look like a spider bite.  It feels warm to the touch and feels very hard.

The doctor said it's normal for kids his age to get a localized reaction like this to bug bites.  She recommended Benadryl.  If the swelling doesn't get better after a few hours then an antibiotic is probably needed (might be an infection).

Luckily the swelling and redness both looked better after a dose of Benadryl and a 5 hour nap!

hats

Bennett and Winston now each have a hat of their own!  Winston loves the Minion hat and Bennett loves the Cars hat.

katie's birthday party

In Maine today visiting with Linda, Dave, Ali and Katie.  We are celebrating Katie's birthday. She is turning 4 in a couple of days.

Winston really liked the Minnie Mouse airplane car.  He sat on it for the first hour of the party.  I got him to move by bringing out the bubbles.

Linda did a nice job with the party snacks, decorations and cake.

The cake was especially popular.  Everyone gathered round to check it out and sing "Happy Birthday."

Bennett was really excited to sing "Happy Birthday."

Opening the presents was also very popular.  Everyone wanted to "help" Katie.

My boys skipped helping with the presents and ran around popping bubbles instead.

Winnie was the last one to eat some cake.  He did the best job getting the blue frosting all over his face.

Winnie and Daddy having fun with the photo stand.

After the party we took a walk downtown to grab some ice cream.

Poor Winnie tried so hard to pull the wagon.

Ali had Winnie beat this time with chocolate ice cream all over her face.

nintendo switch

Daddy found a deal on Amazon on a Nintendo Switch.  Bennett was so excited!  We are surprised he recognized the system and game.

Both boys "helped" set it up.

Set up was quick.  Daddy and the boys had a fun night playing Mariokart.

camping at crawford notch

We are camping with Noel and Dylan in New Hampshire this weekend.  We booked one night because we were unsure how the boys would do.  The boys ended up having a blast!  They were thrilled by the fire, the tent, playing outside with their trucks and s'mores.

Thanks photographer Bennett for taking a picture of us.

The boys loved our tiny visitor.

Winston was scared to hold him.  Bennett was sad when we let him go.  He said "Awwww!"

S'mores got messy!

Beautiful views on our walk for a dip in the Saco river.

The boys loved picking up rocks and throwing them into the river.  Winston's rocks gradually got bigger.

Same rock different Schifferle.

Mommy's tent installing skills got tested tonight.  The boys went crazy pulling on the sides, the door and in general.  Too cute!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast of bacon, eggs and english muffins.  I wish we were staying longer. Both boys were sad to go.  Bennett loved uncle Dylan.  He followed him around everywhere.  On the ride home he was saying: "We see uncle Dylan later.  We go camping with uncle Dylan later."
