Tonight Bennett had his bestie, Nolan, over. They entertained themselves by breaking in Bennett's new toy table. It was nice to see them actually acknowledge each other. They fought over some toys later so it wasn't all positive. However, I think it was friendly. I am sure they will figure out how to share better in the future.

candle factory and store
We are officially moving out of the basement into a space for our candle business. We got a large order that would be impossible to make at home. We signed a six month lease today. The store we are hoping to open in early November.
The factory is open now. We are making a lot of candles lately.

bed head
This morning Bennett woke up looking like daddy. His hair was standing straight up on both sides of his head. The resemblance between his daddy's bed head and his own is striking. I think that we can say without a doubt he has his daddy's hair.

pulling up
Bennett started pulling up on things as soon as he started crawling. He started in his crib, moved on to the furniture in the living room, then everything else and now he is scooting along the furniture.
He wobbles a lot but he is on his way to getting stronger and standing on his own.

bennett and monster
Our friends Brian and Thuy got a new kitten. Today Bennett got to make his acquaintance. It was really cute to see them interact. The kitten would swat at Bennett each time he reached out to touch him. Bennett found this really confusing and amusing. Usually things don't swat back at him when he is trying to grab them.

football season
Today we headed to the city of Boston to see some of our friends. We spent the morning over at the Demelo's for brunch. It was nice to catch up with them. They recently visited Ireland and had some travel tips for us. We are going on our trip overseas shortly so it was nice to get some advice. Bennett enjoyed exploring their living room even though we brought him plenty of toys. He liked climbing their coffee table.
Next we headed to Steven's house for some football. Nick caught a moment when Steve was not paying attention and put Bennett in his lap. Steve has not held him until now because he doesn't like to hold babies. Here he looks like he is almost enjoying it.

We hung out for quite a while and watched the game. Bennett was really tuckered out and took a nice long nap to reboot. We look forward to many more football Sundays with our friends.
I am hoping that Bennett can borrow the helmet from day care one of these Sundays. He looks really cute with it on.

play date with Islaru
We are excited to head over to The Damiani's this afternoon for an early dinner and a play date. It was a gorgeous day. We spent the day catching up, eating, drinking and watching Isla and Bennett play. The two of them still barely acknowledge each other. Isla is sitting up really strong now and is working on crawling. Bennett was busy exploring her toys. I hope Isla doesn't mind his drool all over her toys.
Bennett's favorite toy to play with at Islaru's house is the peek a boo Bear. He was giggling so hard. Love to see him so happy like this.
Tami loves to nick name Isla. I only have one nick name for Bennett and that's B. She gave me some great ideas though. I love Benaru. Maybe that will be his new nick name.
renaissance fair
Today we went to the Renaissance Fair in Carver, MA. Nick and I went last year and loved it. So we decided that we are going to try and make the fair every year from now on. This year was Bennett's first year. I was excited to take him. There are a lot of fun things to do at the fair. We can shop for pottery, jewelry, beer, food (giant turkey legs are a must at the fair) or walking sticks. There are different shows we can attend like the Mud Show, the Wench show, the Falcon show, the Tiger show, and so on. There are also games to play like ax and Chinese dart throwing, archery or falconry. And, of course there is our absolute favorite the Jousting. That was the first thing we did this year at the fair. There was a joust at noon and we did not want to miss it since we weren't going to be staying that long. We made some friends along the way.
This was the first joust of the day so it was just a test of he riders skills. They have to try and catch a bunch of rings with their lance. At first it's only one but it gets more challenging from there until eventually they have catch multiple rings. It's entertaining to watch.
Bennett really enjoyed his first jousting match.
Our friends Rob and Sue met up with us at the fair. We decided to give ax throwing a try next. Nick and Rob went first and Sue and I went next. Rob was amazingly great at ax throwing. Out of the four axes he ended up getting three of them to stick to the target. We were all very impressed. I think he practiced before coming to the fair.
We headed to the Wench show next. It was hilarious. I laughed really hard the entire time. These two ladies were a trip. They drenched people in water, said and did naughty things but it was all in good fun. As part of the show they had three guys do silly things to try and win a carnation for their significant other. One of the guys had to put on whitey tights and shout: "I am wearing my big boy pants! In my big boy pants I can do anything!" While another had to chase one of the ladies around with his shirt off yelling: "I need you, I want you, I LOVE YOU!" and try and get the carnation out of her mouth. Bennett did not do well. He got scared when people would laugh loudly during the show. Nick let me watch the show while him and Bennett went for a little walk around the fair.
Regardless, I think Bennett had a great time as did we. I am excited to go back again next year when Bennett can walk and participate in some of the activities here. Maybe we can even get him a costume to wear complete with a walking stick.

wrestling match
Bennett loves Max. He loves to wrestle with him any chance he gets. Bennett is so rough. I hope that he is more gentle in the future. I don't know how much longer Max is going to put up with him.

messy eater
Bennett loves to eat and we love that about him. He does need to learn how to keep his hands out of his mouth while we are feeding him. The messes that he makes are legendary. To make matters worse he hates being cleaned up.
